Overview:

      It is the city of Sri Lanka and the capital of the northern province. It is located in the northern part of the country, covering an area of 20.2 square kilometers. Affected by the tropical rainforest climate, it has an average annual rainfall of 1270 mm and a population of 88138 in 2012.
