Overview:
Peru's northwest coastal port. When the west 5 area standard is adopted. The maximum draught is 4.27M and the loading density of water is 1025. The tidal range is about 0.91 M. The prevailing wind direction is variable. There is no pilotage, and VHF channel 16 is used for communication. The working time is 24 hours. Port service facilities include: medical treatment and supplies, no ship repair, fueling, dry dock, boat, towing, sewage, fresh water and repatriation. Pakasmayo is a barge port. There is a breakwater outside the port, 550 meters long and 4.27 meters deep in the front, which is used to transport cargo loaded and unloaded on barges. There are eight barges in the port, with a total lightering capacity of 370 tons. There are three cranes on the breakwater. The maximum length of lifting objects is 7 meters and the maximum weight is 5 tons. A red signal light is installed at the front end of the breakwater, which can be seen within 6.5km. Ships should not be moored to the north side of the breakwater, where there are many dangerous reefs. There is a better anchorage outside the barge anchorage, where there is a Northwest current with a velocity of 0.5 knots. 5 groups of porters can refer to the work of opening and closing cabins. The port handles minerals, grains, imported equipment, paraffin and groceries. Average handling rate: 20-25 tons per hour for each group of porters.
