Overview:

      Venice is a city in the northeast of Italy and an important port on the northwest coast of the Gulf of Venice in the Adriatic Sea. Population 343000 (statistics show that the permanent resident population of Venice in 1957 was 174000, while the total number of permanent resident population announced in October 2009 was less than 60000, reaching the lowest level in History). It is mainly built on a shoal 4 km offshore with an average water depth of 1.5 meters. It is composed of 118 small islands, connected by 177 waterways and 401 bridges, and connected by boats. It is known as "water city", "hundred island city" and "Bridge City".
