Overview:
An island port in the Torres Strait in northeastern Australia. The maximum draft is 6.5 meters. The loading density of water is 1025. The tidal range is 3.6m. Southeast wind prevails from March to November, and northwest wind prevails from December to next February. For communication, VHF channels 11, 12, 67 and 6 are used to call "Thursday Island Harbour"; Torres pilot station service station uses VHF channels 12 and 16 to call "ref pilots". Working hours: 8:00-24:00. Customs officers and doctors boarded the boat in the bay of Normandy between goodes and Friday island. Port service facilities include: ship repair, fueling, small boats, medical treatment, fresh water, supplies, repatriation, dry dock, traction, sewage facilities. The port has two berths for general cargo and bulk cargo, 30.2m and 27.5m long respectively, with draughts of 4.5m and 3.5m; Two oil tanker berths with draft of 6.0m.
